1. The span measurement conditions of general bridge (gantry) cranes should meet the following requirements:
1.1. The span measurement of indoor bridge gantry crane should be placed horizontally;
1.2. The span measurement of outdoor single and double beam cranes should be placed horizontally and measured under no wind conditions;
1.2. When measuring the span of the crane, the temperature of the steel tape measure and the crane track should be the same, and the steel tape measure must not swing and sag naturally;
1.3. The steel tape should be qualified by the provincial level-approved metrology department and within the validity period;
1.4. The span of the crane cannot be calculated and must be actually measured;
2. The span deviation △S of the gantry crane shall be calculated as follows:
△S =S side+△1+△2-S (Append 1.1)
In the formula: S side——measured value of span (mm);
S——theoretical value of span (mm);
△1——Measurement correction value of steel tape (mm);
△2——The correction value of steel tape (mm), which can be taken according to the attached table 1.1 or the attached table 1.2;
3. The location of crane span measurement should be determined according to attached drawings 1.1 to 1.4.
1. The calculated correction value of the steel tape is provided by the measurement department (positive or negative). 2. The deviation △S0 of the crane track span should be calculated as follows:

In the formula: △S0——measured value of track span (mm);
△1——Measurement correction value of steel tape (mm);
△2——Correction value of steel tape (mm), take the value according to attached table 1.1 or attached table 1.2;
△3——Temperature correction value (mm). The temperature correction value is calculated as follows:
△3=αS0(t-20) (attached 1.3)
In the formula: α——The coefficient of linear expansion of steel tape is 11.5×10-6/℃;
t——The actual temperature during measurement (℃);
S0——theoretical value of crane track span (m).

6. The location of crane track span measurement should be determined according to attached drawings 1.5 to 1.8.
