Consequently, more office and residential units are expected to be constructed outside Metro Manila. The prefabricated construction industry in the Philippines is expected to grow by over 13% over the forecast period.

Steel consumption in the Philippines jumped about 9 percent to a record 10.5 million tonnes in 2018, driven by public and private construction projects. About 70 percent of the Philippines' steel imports come from China, the world's largest producer and exporter. In 2018, China’s steel exports to the Philippines accounted for 7% of its total steel exports, reaching 66.9 million tonnes. The Philippine metals industry has recorded about double-digit growth in 2020, and the demand for steel is expected to continue to grow as construction activities increase.
In various development data, commercial prefabricated buildings account for more than 50% of the Philippine market. Nonresidential buildings came in second with 24,381 or 14.1% of the total number of buildings. This figure is a 14.2% increase from the 21,349 buildings recorded in 2017. Commercial buildings had the largest number of buildings at 14,674, accounting for 60.2% of the total number of non-residential buildings.
Demand drivers for office space in Metro Manila are likely to remain diverse in 2020. Before the entry of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), outsourcing companies such as call centers and shared service providers easily accounted for more than 50% of all office leasing transactions. Traditional tenants, business process outsourcing (BPO), knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) companies such as health information management and software engineering firms, and POGOs are likely to dominate the use of office space in Metro Manila in 2020.
The prefabricated construction industry in the Philippines is fragmented in nature and no single major player has a significant market share to influence the market. The prefab and construction industries are also embracing technology at a faster pace. As a result, construction companies can partner with crane manufacturers to increase productivity and efficiency. Compared to other countries, the Philippines has fewer companies engaged in prefabricated building construction, which provides an opportunity for new players to enter the less competitive market and introduce new prefabricated building structures in the market.
The increasing size of prefabricated components is a trend of future industrialized buildings, and it also drives the market demand for large cranes and suitable hoisting methods. The prefabricated structure technology is gradually becoming mature and developing in a wider field, and the supporting hoisting machinery industry is also gradually developing in the direction of large-scale, large-scale and specialization. Prefabricated construction puts forward higher requirements on the performance, hoisting process and personnel quality of hoisting machinery, especially gantry cranes & overhead cranes, and also creates rare opportunities for the development of the hoisting machinery industry
