Three Reasons Why the Electric Chain Hoist does not Work
Three situations where the electric chain hoist does not work when the start switch is pressed:
- Whether the power supply system is transmitting power to the electric hoist, generally use a test pencil to test, if there is no power, wait until the power is turned on before working;
- The electrical equipment of the main and control circuits of the hoist is damaged, the circuit is disconnected or the contact is poor, and the hoist motor cannot be energized. In this case, the main and control circuits need to be overhauled in order to prevent the main and control circuits from being sent to the three-phase motor. The motor is burnt due to lack of phase in the power supply, or the hoist motor is suddenly energized and runs, causing harm. Be sure to disconnect the hoist motor from the power line, and only supply power to the main and control circuits, and then click the start and stop switches to check, analyze and control The working conditions of electrical appliances and lines, repair or replace the defective electrical appliances or lines, and re-test after confirming that the main and control circuits are not faulty;
- The motor voltage of the electric chain hoist is more than 10% lower than the rated voltage, and the starting torque of the motor is too small, so that the hoist cannot lift the goods and cannot work. When checking, use a multimeter or a voltmeter to measure the voltage at the input terminal of the motor. When the motor cannot be started because the voltage is too low, you need to wait for the system voltage to return to normal before using the electric hoist.
Sometimes, the voltage is normal but the electric hoist does not work. This needs to consider other reasons, such as:
- The electric chain hoist motor is burned out, and the motor needs to be replaced during maintenance;
- The electric chain hoist has not been used for a long time, and the brake wheel and the end cover are rusted due to poor maintenance. The brake wheel cannot be disengaged when starting, the motor only makes a "hum" sound, and the hoist cannot be rotated and the hoist cannot work. At this time, the brake wheel should be removed, the rusty surface should be cleaned, and then the test run should be performed again
- If the motor is severely sweeping the bore, the motor will not rotate. If this situation is found, stop using it, and overhaul or replace the motor to ensure normal operation of the hoist.
- It is strictly forbidden to use electric chain hoist for overload during use. When the goods are overloaded, the electric hoist cannot lift the goods, and the motor only makes a hum and does not run severely. The motor will burn down and even cause an accident. At this time, it should be stopped immediately. Lighten the cargo and make the electric chain hoist work under the rated power.
