The impact of the expansion of the port of Duqm in Oman on the crane market

According to the "Oman Observer" report on July 17, 2021, the Duqm Port Company announced the launch of an international operator tender for its newly completed container terminal. The winning operator will be awarded the development and operation of the Duqm "Port Container Project". Phase 1 license, valid for 30 years. The first phase of the project is expected to have a capacity of 1.7 million TEUs, with more room for expansion in the future.

As a Chinese crane manufacturer, we need to know more about the crane market in Oman. As we all know, gantry cranes are widely used in ports. The Duqm Port Company was established 50/50 by the Omani government (represented by the Asyad Group) and the Consortium Antwerp Port. Its "Port Container Project" has a total length of about 1,600 meters and an estimated total capacity of 3.5 million TEUs.

In the past year (2021), we have cumulatively sold 7 sets of electric hoists, 2 sets of gantry cranes, 15 sets of overhead cranes, and 5 sets of jib cranes in Oman.
