Bridge crane brakes are customarily called "brakes". The brake system are used to achieve accurate and reliable parking and prevent suspended objects from falling. It is one of the important components to ensure the safe operation of the crane. The brakes used by cranes are diverse. According to structural characteristics, brakes can be divided into three types: block type, belt type and disc type.
Among them, block brakes are widely used in hoisting cranes. Disc brakes are mostly used in the braking of electric hoists and the cone motors of the large and small car operating mechanisms of electric hoist cranes. According to the working state, the brake can be divided into two types: normally closed and normally open.
For the brake adjustment of the traveling brake of the bridge crane:
(1) First adjust the positive and negative levers to make the brake pads of the brake shoes close to the brake wheel;
(2) Adjust the torque spring and control it within 1/8 of the rated torque (inspection method: use a 12-inch adjustable wrench to clamp the bolt on the brake wheel coupling, turn the brake wheel, and use a little force to turn the brake wheel That's it; if it doesn't turn, it is too tight, so loosen the torque spring until it is suitable);
(3) The brake adjustment of double-wheel drive or four-wheel drive must be adjusted to the same state;
(4) EMU inspection: when running empty and stopping when power is cut off, the big car will slide about 2m, and the trolley will slide about 500mm; the traveling brake can be YWL two-step brake, the first step is small torque braking, deceleration effect; The second step is a few seconds later than the first step, and the brake is stabilized.
