Durham Lifting, one of the founding manufacturers of Modular Spreader Beams in the المملكة المتحدة has announced that Wan Djawad has joined its technical team as technical director.
With over 13 years’ experience within the lifting equipment industry, Djawad has been involved in the design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and testing for some of the world’s most well-known names in lifting.
Experienced in ensuring safe design and operation of various types of lifting and material handling equipment for both onshore and marine applications, Djawad has worked extensively in Asia and Europe, navigating the different requirements of clients across industries and countries.
He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering - BEng (Hons) from University Tenaga National in ماليزيا and a Masters in Steel Construction from the University of Sheffield.
At Sheffield, Djawad was sponsored by BAE Systems after winning the prestigious Chevening Scholarships to complete his postgraduate degree.
Through his passion in mentoring and encouraging engineering students and early graduates, he has founded and chaired various non-profit organisations internationally including committees within the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) in both Asia and Europe, where he is currently the Chair for the Teesside Young Members panel.
As the newly appointed technical director at Durham Lifting, Djawad aims to take his experience in working across various industries and multidisciplined teams around the world to further develop the engineering capabilities at Durham Lifting and build on its success over the past 25 years within the lifting equipment industry.
