Recently, President Xi Jinping attended the sixth meeting of heads of state of China, Russia and Mongolia in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, and met with Mongolian President Khurilsukh. President Xi Jinping put forward four-point proposals on promoting China-Russia-Mongolia cooperation, which is of great significance to further strengthening China-Russia-Mongolia trilateral cooperation, promoting the development of bilateral relations between China and Mongolia, strengthening communication and cooperation between the two sides on international and regional issues, and promoting regional peace, stability and prosperity.
In recent years, China-Russia-Mongolia cooperation has achieved positive results. Although affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the pace of tripartite cooperation has never stopped. Join hands to fight the epidemic and jointly protect the lives and health of the people of the three countries; maintain the enthusiasm of exchanges through "cloud exchanges", and strengthen the bond of people-to-people bonds; actively carry out joint prevention and control cooperation in border areas, and the promotion of the Asian Highway network for cross-border transportation through the three countries has achieved remarkable results. These cooperation achievements fully reflect the strong endogenous driving force and development resilience of China-Russia-Mongolia trilateral cooperation.
Linked by mountains and rivers, China and Mongolia are each other's important friendly neighbors. China has always placed China-Mongolia relations at an important position in its neighboring diplomacy. China-Mongolia relations have maintained a good momentum of development, and exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two countries have achieved positive results. The political mutual trust between the two sides has been continuously consolidated, the economic and trade cooperation has achieved fruitful results, and the two peoples' hearts have become closer. Mongolia firmly adheres to the one-China policy and firmly opposes any country's interference in China's internal affairs.
China and Mongolia maintain high-level exchanges, strengthen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, and constantly enrich the connotation of bilateral relations. In February this year, President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang met with Mongolian Prime Minister Oyun Erden, who was in China to attend the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, and reached important consensus, injecting new impetus into the development of bilateral relations. In September, Li Zhanshu, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, paid an official goodwill visit to Mongolia, and reached important consensus on the development of bilateral relations and exchanges between the legislative bodies. The strategic mutual trust between the two countries was further deepened.
China-Mongolia economic and trade cooperation has continued to develop, and the bilateral trade volume has grown despite the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic. China actively strengthens the alignment of the "Belt and Road" initiative with the "Prairie Road" initiative, promotes the construction of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, and supports Mongolia in achieving better and faster development. The Mongolian side supports the global development initiative and global security initiative proposed by the Chinese side, and is willing to strengthen the alignment of development strategies with the Chinese side and promote practical cooperation in various fields such as economy, trade, railway, and environment. In 2021, the trade volume between the two countries will exceed 10 billion US dollars for the first time. Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia, the governments and peoples of the two countries have worked together to overcome the difficulties and set a model for anti-epidemic cooperation. China actively takes care of Mongolia's concerns, provides Mongolia with multiple batches of anti-epidemic materials, and coordinates and resolves Mongolia's major concerns related to the national economy and people's livelihood, such as the export of Mongolia's mineral products to China, the import of fuel and daily necessities, and actively promotes China's preferential loans and assistance. The implementation of the project will promote the cooperation of major projects between the two countries, benefit the local people's livelihood, and help Mongolia's economic and social development. President Khurilsukh thanked China for providing Mongolia with anti-epidemic assistance and making important contributions to protecting the health of the Mongolian people.
China and Mongolia are good neighbors, good brothers who share weal and woe, and good partners who share weal and woe. China is willing to uphold the concept of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness, work with Mongolia to carry forward traditional friendship, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and push China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.
