Australia provides technical assistance to Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturers

According to a report by Vietnam News Agency on May 16th, the Australian Climate Financing Partnership (ACFP) has provided $500000 in technical assistance to VinES Company in Vietnam to propose solutions for sustainable development and diversified supply chains in battery production, meet the demand of Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturers for such batteries, and provide responsible reuse and best practices for recycling waste batteries, Create employment opportunities in the electric vehicle supply chain and improve worker skills.

This technical assistance will support Vietnam in addressing the challenges of lithium-ion battery technology, reflecting recognition of Vietnam's efforts to become a global green energy solution provider in the fields of electric vehicles and clean energy, and contributing to Vietnam's transition to a low-carbon economy.

Previously, in June 2022, the Australian government invested $50 million in VinFast, a Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, and the Asian Development Bank provided $950000 in technical assistance to promote the development of electric vehicles in Vietnam.
