According to data released by the German Federal Statistical Office on the 16th, the bilateral trade volume between Germany and China in 2022 will be 297.9 billion euros, and China has become Germany's most important trading partner for the seventh consecutive year.

Data show that in 2022, Germany's imports from China will be 191.1 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 33.6%; Germany's exports to China will be 106.8 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%.

In the past few decades, in the ranking of Germany's most important source of imports, China ranked 35th in 1980 and rose to 14th in 1990. Since 2015, China has been the country with the most imported products from Germany.

The data also shows that the bilateral trade volume between Germany and the United States, Germany and the Netherlands ranked second and third last year, with 247.8 billion euros and 233.6 billion euros respectively.

The German Federal Statistical Office issued a statement on the 16th that Germany's trade surplus in 2022 will be 79.7 billion euros, the lowest level since 2000, and compared with 175.3 billion euros in 2021, a drop of more than 50%, partly due to energy import prices grow rapidly.
