On May 25th, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, Shu Jueting, stated at a regular press conference that the China Central Asia Summit is China's first major home diplomatic event of this year, with significant practical and far-reaching historical significance. This summit has achieved a series of important economic and trade achievements. The Ministry of Commerce and the competent economic and trade departments of Central Asian countries have established a mechanism for the China Central Asian Economic and Trade Ministers' Meeting, and have signed three multilateral cooperation documents on deepening economic and trade cooperation, digital trade, infrastructure and engineering construction cooperation and development, fully reflecting the firm determination of all parties to build a closer China Central Asian community with a shared future. China will focus on promoting economic and trade cooperation with Central Asian countries in four aspects.
One is to promote the development of new forms of trade. Encourage enterprises to build overseas warehouses in Central Asia, support enterprises from Central Asian countries to enter Chinese e-commerce platforms, and promote the entry of high-quality goods from Central Asia into the Chinese market.
The second is to achieve continuous empowerment driven by innovation. We will carry out digital trade with Central Asian countries, promote rule integration, standard mutual recognition, and digital infrastructure connectivity, share development experience in artificial intelligence, big data, 5G, and other fields, accelerate the process of digital development, and jointly open up a new situation for digital trade cooperation.
The third is to ensure the security and stability of the regional industrial chain supply chain. We will promote the construction of cross-border infrastructure, strengthen cooperation in fields such as oil and natural gas, and promote the construction of cross-border pipelines; Deepen cooperation in the agricultural field and expand imports of high-quality agricultural products from Central Asia.
Fourthly, strengthen cooperation within a multilateral framework. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan within the framework of the World Trade Organization, and support Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in joining the WTO at an early date.
