Anucha, a spokesman for the Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand, said that the Economic and Business Forecasting Center of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce revealed that the Thai Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) rose from 49.7 to 51.7 in January 2023, improving for the eighth consecutive month, and the first in Thailand. The highest level since December 2020, 26 months after the tourism industry was able to recover. Anucha said that the increase in the consumer confidence index is due to a number of important factors, including the implementation of relevant economic measures in 2023, such as consumer rebates, tax cuts, etc.; the rapid recovery of Thailand's tourism industry and the increase in the number of inbound tourists; The SET Index rose by 2.80 points, and the price adjustment of agricultural products, especially rice, sweet potato and corn, increased the income of farmers.
