According to the latest report released by the UK-based Oxford Insights, Vietnam has risen seven places in the 2022 Government AI Readiness Index, ranking sixth among ASEAN countries and 55th globally.

According to Oxford Insights, Vietnam's average score in 2022 will be 53.96, up from 51.82 in 2021 and surpassing the global average of 44.61. 181 countries were ranked this year, up from 160 last year.

This result not only reflects the development of artificial intelligence technology, but also shows the trend of the formation of Vietnam's artificial intelligence industry. According to the National Strategy for Research, Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence by 2030 approved by the government on January 26, 2021, Vietnam aims to make artificial intelligence a pioneering technology of the fourth industrial revolution. Vietnam also strives to become an innovation and development center for AI solutions and applications in ASEAN and the world by 2030.

At present, many provinces and cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, and Cheng Thien Hue have applied artificial intelligence to various fields such as health, education, and public administration services. Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Thi Bi Ngoc said that artificial intelligence technology is playing an increasingly important role in Vietnamese life, and has been widely used in smart city construction, health, insurance, smart agriculture, and environmental technology.
