According to Vietnam. com on January 15, Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade recently imposed a new ceiling on the price of solar and wind energy in Vietnam.

On October 3, 2022, the Ministry issued the No. 15 document (15/2022/TT-BCT), which stipulated that Vietnam Electric Power Group (EVN) should refer to some specific ceiling prices as the basis for price negotiations with developers of transitional solar and wind projects.

On January 7, 2023, the Ministry set the maximum price of ground solar projects at VND 1184.90 (5.05 cents) per kWh, floating solar energy at VND 1508.27 (6.43 cents) per kWh, onshore wind power at VND 1587.12 (6.77 cents), and offshore wind power at VND 1815.95 (7.75 cents). Vietnam Electric Power Group will now use these ceiling prices to negotiate feed-in tariffs with the transition project developers.
