On May 10, 2023, Vietnam News Agency reported that the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs predicts that the Vietnamese labor market will still face many challenges in the third quarter of this year. The employment opportunities in industries such as textile and clothing, furniture, etc. will continue to decrease, with an expected decrease of 38100 in the textile and clothing industry and 3800 in the furniture production industry. According to the Statistics Bureau of Vietnam, in the first three months of this year, nearly 294000 Vietnamese enterprise workers were suspended or shortened due to a decrease in enterprise orders. In the fourth quarter of 2022, the number of unemployed Vietnamese enterprises was approximately 118000; In the third quarter of this year, this number is expected to continue to increase, approaching 149000 people.

However, the Vietnamese Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs predicts that there will be approximately 150000 new labor and employment opportunities in the country in the second quarter of this year. Among them, the computer, electronic products, and optical product manufacturing industries added 28200, while the food and beverage production and processing industries added 18600 and 4700 respectively. At present, there is a relatively large employment gap in industries such as software development, network management, network security, media data, finance and accounting, marketing and sales, product management, healthcare consulting, machinery and electronics, and automation.
