Method for replacing steel wire rope of crane electric hoist

The fetching and winding device of the electric wire rope hoist used by the crane is a wire rope, and the wire rope is one of the vulnerable parts of the electric hoist. Even if the wire rope is well maintained daily, there will be a life limit. Once the wire rope is severely worn or broken It needs to be scrapped and replaced. Replacing the steel wire rope seems to be a general task of removing the old rope and replacing it with a new rope.

The editor will introduce you to the steps of replacing the wire rope

1.  Transport the new wire rope (together with the rope reel) under the crane and put it on the support that makes the rope reel rotate. Then put the hook steadily and firmly on the prepared support (or flat ground) so that the pulley is vertically upward.
2.  Put the old steel wire rope on the drum, and then use a wrench to loosen the pressure plate at one end of the old steel wire rope, and put the rope on the ground (be careful to let the ground personnel hide in a safe area).
3.  Tie the ends of the new and old two steel wire ropes with a 1-2 mm diameter iron wire (the lashing length is twice the diameter of the steel wire rope). Pair the two rope ends together, and use a thin iron wire with a diameter of about 1 mm to wind between the two butted rope ends three times. Finally, use the thin iron wire to smoothly wind the butt joint so as not to be blocked when passing the pulley.
4.  Start the lifting mechanism, take the new rope with the old rope, roll the old rope onto the reel, stop when the new and old rope joint is rolled to the reel, loosen the joint, and temporarily tie the new rope to a suitable place on the trolley. Then drive all the old ropes on the ground (lay them and roll them up for shipment).
5.  Using another lifting rope, lift the other end of the new steel wire rope to the reel. Then, fix both ends of the new steel wire rope on the drum with pressure plates. Then start the lifting mechanism to lift the hook, wind the new wire rope, and the replacement work is all completed.

When winding a new steel wire rope, someone on the trolley must observe the winding situation and pay special attention to safety. The wire rope replacement method of the wire rope electric hoist has the advantages of saving manpower and time, the new wire rope will not be kinked, not sticking to sand, and safety.
