It is used for assembling the hull on the slipway. There are usually two lifting trolleys: one has two main hooks and runs on the track of the upper flange of the bridge; The other has a main hook and an auxiliary hook, which operate on the track of the lower flange of the bridge, so as to turn and hoist large hull sections. The lifting capacity is generally 100 ~ 1500 tons; The span is 185m; The lifting speed is 2 ~ 15m / min, and the fretting speed is 0.1 ~ 0.5m / min.

For container terminals. Compared with container straddle crane, container gantry crane has larger span and height on both sides of gantry. In order to meet the transportation needs of port terminals, this crane has a high working level. The lifting speed is 8 ~ 10m / min; The span is determined according to the number of container rows to be crossed. The maximum is about 60m, corresponding to the lifting capacity of 20 foot, 30 foot and 40 foot containers, which are about 20 tons, 25 tons and 30 tons respectively.
