Cantilever crane installation steps

Cantilever crane is a kind of lifting equipment often used by enterprises. After the customer purchases it, if the manufacturer sends workers to install it, the cost will be more. We generally recommend that customers install it themselves. The editor of our factory introduces the installation steps of the cantilever crane.

1. Make preparations before installing the cantilever crane.

Check whether the product and technical documents are missing or lost according to the packing list. If the jib beam is deformed or bruised during transportation, it should be corrected or restored respectively. After checking that the delivered product is correct, the next step is to install. Generally, the manufacturer cannot be present, and telephone guidance would be better.

2. Crane Column installation

When installing the upright column, the upright column should be kept perpendicular to the ground, and the anchor plate screws should be tightened firmly without any looseness. The bottom plate and the foundation should fit well. If equipped with an electric hoist , the foundation shall be embedded with cables and grounding facilities. The embedded cables shall be led out from the center of the foundation, and the grounding resistance shall not be greater than 4Ω.

3. Installation of jib beam

For the installation of the jib beam, please proceed in the following order.

• 1) First hoist the beam horizontally.
• 2) Connect the slewing device to the jib beam. Install the reducer.
• 3) Install an electric hoist and a walking trolley on the jib beam track.
• 4) The fourth step is to install a trolley wire rack and a steel wire rope or C-shaped track on the top of the cantilever beam. The rope is stringed into the sliding ring to be tightened. On one side.
• 5) Connect and install all electrical appliances on the beam, and leave power cords of appropriate length. (See electrical schematic diagram and electrical wiring diagram for wiring).

After the above steps are completed, the integral hoisting of the jib beam can be carried out.

4. Cantilever hoisting

When hoisting, after lifting according to the specified lifting method, align the shaft with the bearing hole on the top of the column, and slowly lower the roller against the raceway of the column. After adjusting the proper position, use the washer, round nut and round nut non-return washer to fix the shaft through the side hole on the upper part of the column. Then drag the slip ring with one hand, pass the side hole on the upper part of the column, and set it on the beam shaft.

Then, connect the wires hanging from the perimeter of the beam to the terminal on the collector ring, and connect the carbon brushes to the power switch at the lower part of the column with wires, and finally fix the carbon brush holder on the inner wall of the column. Adjust the sliding plate to keep good contact with the copper ring on the collector ring. Turn on the power and start the test run.

The installation steps are roughly the same. In addition, there are the following precautions:

1.  When installing the slip ring and other components in the column, necessary measures (such as tying it with a rope in advance) should be taken to prevent accidentally falling into the column.
2.  If the machine is installed and used outdoors, reliable rainproof measures should be installed.

After assembly and assembly of the arm beam and column, it should be done

①The rollers should be in good contact with the raceway,

②The rotating arm can flexibly rotate 360° around the column,

③Adjust the adjustment shim so that the end of the arm beam reaches the upper deflection F≥R/250 (R is the radius of gyration).

Precautions for cantilever crane installation:

1.  When the cantilever crane is installed, it must be confirmed that the column is installed vertically, and the verticality should be checked from different directions. The ground must be flat and free of debris. If the tiled floor is laid, a suitable layer of cloth must be added to increase the friction with the ground.
2.  The nut of the fixed wire cylinder must be tightened. The commonly used hook wrenches generally cannot reach the strength. It is recommended to lengthen a round pipe in front of the hook wrench. Always check whether the nut is loose during lifting. The installation position of the rotating arm on the column should not be too high or too low. Too high or too low will result in a reduction in the bearing capacity of the column and lead to inverted poles. The angle between the oblique arm and the column is preferably within 45 degrees. As the angle increases, the moment arm increases and the load-bearing capacity of the column increases. The rotating arm is sleeved on the upright column. It should be ensured that it can rotate flexibly and can add appropriate grease. If the pole is deformed, it should be replaced as soon as possible.
3.  After the cargo is lifted into the sky, try to avoid power off and stop. The vibration caused by the power off brake will cause great harm to the column. If the lifting weight is large, it is very easy to cause the column to collapse. When cargo enters and exits the window, you should grasp the cargo to enter and exit without force, especially when lifting larger or heavier cargo.
4.  The lifting weight should not exceed 70% of the nominal weight. The higher the hoist, the lower it is.
5.  To insert the clutch, make sure that the clutch is completely inserted into the air, and the machine can be started after it is completely closed. The clutch should be checked frequently during lifting.
6.  After the machine is installed, try to hang it as little as possible for the first time, check whether the equipment is normal, check whether the nut is loose, and then gradually increase the weight. The clutch cannot be opened when the load is lowered, and the motor is used to drive the lowering of the goods. And put your feet on the brakes in advance to prevent slipping.
7.  Regularly check whether the machine is abnormal and perform regular maintenance. If the gear is damaged, it is very easy to cause the goods to fall to the ground. Regular maintenance can avoid such problems.
