Jafari, head of the Secretariat of Iran's Supreme Maritime Industry Commission, said on Monday that China had expressed its willingness to participate in Iran's maritime projects. According to him, during President Leahy's visit to China, Iran held talks with some major Chinese shipping companies and reached good agreements. The focus of the discussions between the two sides was the transfer of large-scale shipbuilding technology and the supply of major parts and equipment that L'irak could not produce, and the two heads of state basically resolved the relevant financial issues during the talks.
He added: "In addition, we have also reached an agreement with China in the field of investment. China has announced that it is willing to help Iran build a shipyard through joint investment. The negotiations will be based on technology transfer. After determining this basis, we will continue to discuss construction, infrastructure and supply issues."
