Eduardo Regarado, an expert on China at the Cuban Center for International Political Studies, said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency recently that China's economic aggregate will continue to expand in 2022, with a more solid foundation for development, and inject confidence into the global economic recovery.

Regardeau, who has visited China for more than ten times, said that in the context of the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on the global economy, China's economy will achieve 3% growth in 2022, and its total economic volume will exceed 120 trillion yuan. "China, as an engine of global economic growth, has continued to make contributions to the global economic recovery, and its achievements are of great significance."

As China optimizes and adjusts its epidemic prevention policies, international institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Morgan Stanley and Moody's have raised China's economic growth expectations for 2023. At the end of January this year, the IMF released the updated content of the World Economic Outlook Report, significantly raising China's economic growth forecast to 5.2% in 2023.

"China's economy is an important engine of world economic growth," Regarado said. "China is also an important part of the supply chain value chain of the global industrial chain. China's economic growth is of great significance to the development of all fields in the world today."

Speaking of China-Latin Amérique economic and trade cooperation, Regarado pointed out that China is an important trading partner of most Latin American countries, including Cuba. "Many Latin American countries rely on exports to China, and China's economic achievements are crucial to the development of these economies.".
