The most significant growth rate occurred in 2019, when exports increased by X% over the previous year. During the period under review, exports peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, exports have been at lower levels. In value terms, 2020 overhead crane exports fell sharply to $X.
Overall, there was a sudden setback in exports. The fastest growth rate in 2012, an increase of X% year-on-year. Exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, exports failed to regain momentum.
Switzerland (X units), France (X units) and Romania (X units) were the main destinations for Finnish bridge crane exports, accounting for X% of total exports. The États-Unis, the United Arab Emirates, Slovenia and Latvia are slightly behind, together making up a further X growth from 2007 to 2020, with Latvia increasing the most (+X% per year), while the other leaders have seen more modest growth in shipments.
By value, the largest markets for overhead cranes exported from Finland were Switzerland ($X), France ($X) and Romania ($X), which accounted for X% of total exports. This is followed by the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Slovenia and Latvia, which have increased their export value growth by another X (+X% per year), with the highest export value growth among the major countries. During the review period, the destination, while the other leaders saw more modest growth in shipments.
In 2020, foreign supply of fixed-support overhead cranes increased by X% to X units, increasing for the fourth consecutive year after declining for two consecutive years. Overall, however, imports faced a sudden drop. The growth rate was most pronounced in 2013, with an X% increase over the previous year. During the period under review, imports peaked at X units in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, imports have been at lower levels.
Imports of overhead cranes in 2020 are worth X dollars by value. However, imports contracted significantly during the period under review. The growth rate was most pronounced in 2011, with a year-on-year increase of X%. Imports peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, import figures were slightly lower.
In 2020, Germany (X units) was the largest supplier of overhead cranes in Finland, accounting for X% of total imports. In addition, overhead cranes imported from Germany were five times higher than the number recorded by the second largest supplier, Italy (X units). From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of sales from Germany was -X%. The average annual growth rates of imports for the remaining suppliers are as follows: Italy (-X% per annum) and Switzerland (X% per annum).
Germany ($X) is the largest supplier of overhead cranes in Finland by value, accounting for X% of total imports. In second place is Italy ($X) with X% of total imports. From 2007 to 2020, the average annual value growth rate from Germany was -X%. The average annual growth rates of imports in the remaining supplier countries are as follows: Italy (-X% per annum) and Switzerland (+X% per annum).
