Function and inspection of electric hoist brake

Brake is one of the most important parts of electric hoist. What are its specific functions and characteristics? Many people may only know one thing but not the other. The following is a detailed introduction to the brake:

Brakes are traditionally called brakes. It is installed in the operating mechanism, rotating mechanism and luffing mechanism of cranes such as electric hoist, which can make these mechanisms stop at the required position accurately and reliably. If it is installed in the lifting mechanism, it can not only brake under load, but also adjust the falling speed of the object.

The brake can be divided into closed type and open type according to the action mode; According to the structural type, it can be divided into block type and belt type; According to the transmission type, it can be divided into mechanical transmission, hydraulic transmission and electric transmission.

The brake must be strictly inspected once per shift. The inspection criteria are as follows:

  1.  When the thickness of brake shoe friction pad is worn up to 2mm and brake belt pad is worn up to 4mm, it shall be replaced.
  2.  The surface hardness of brake wheel HB = 400 ~ 450, and the depth of quenching layer is 2 ~ 3mm. When the wear reaches 1.5 ~ 2mm, the brake wheel must be re turned and surface quenched.
  3.  Small shaft and spindle shall be surface quenched. When the wear exceeds 5% of the original diameter and the ovality exceeds 0.5mm, it shall be renewed; The lever and spring shall be updated in time when cracks are found.
  4.  The clearance between the brake wheel and the friction pad shall be uniform. The opening of brake shoe shall not exceed 1mm, and the opening of brake belt shall not exceed 1.5mm.
  5.  The starting stroke of the electromagnet core shall not exceed half of the rated stroke for future adjustment in case of wear.
