Precautions for the use of cantilever cranes

Cantilever cranes use a lot of light and small lifting equipment as assembly workshops. Safety should be paid attention to during use, and enterprises should also do a good job in the management of cantilever cranes.

The following points should be paid attention to when using the cantilever crane:

First, the relevant personnel should carefully handover shifts, carefully check the reliability of hooks, wire ropes, brakes, and safety protection devices, and report abnormalities in time.

Second, before starting the cantilever crane, confirm that the following conditions are in a safe state before starting:

(1) Whether all controllers are set to zero position;

(2) Whether there are unrelated personnel on the cantilever crane and the operating area, and whether the operating personnel are evacuated to the safe area;

(3) Whether there are uncleared obstacles within the crane's operating range;

(4) Whether the minimum distance between the crane and other equipment or fixed buildings is more than 0.5m;

(5) Whether the power circuit breaker is locked or has a warning sign;

(6) Whether the mobile cantilever crane has leveled the site as required, and laid the outriggers firmly and reliably.

Third, the driver shall not perform the following behaviors during normal operation:

(1) Use the permission position limiter to stop;

(2) Use the reverse car to brake;

(3) Inspection and maintenance during the cantilever crane lifting operation;

(4) Adjust the brake of the lifting and luffing mechanism with load, or increase the working range with load;

(5) Hanging objects shall not pass over people's heads, and no people shall stand under hanging objects and lifting arms.

The safety management of cantilever cranes is often overlooked, and it is easy to cause unnecessary injuries to enterprises and staff. Units using cantilever cranes must pay attention to management.
