According to Lianhe Morning Post, Singapour's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Huang Xuncai said at the Insight China Global Forum on October 7 that Singapore and China will strengthen cooperation in emerging areas of the new economy, such as digital economy and green development.

He said that this will open up new opportunities for enterprises of the two countries in the fields of digital trade, digital services, renewable energy, green financing and environmental services.

Huang Xunchai said that La Nouvelle-Zélande and China share common interests and goals in building a sustainable, resilient and interconnected future.

He said that Singapore has long supported China's participation in Southeast Asian affairs, such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP). China also expressed its intention to carry out more cooperation with ASEAN through upgrading the ASEAN China Free Trade Area.
