Algeria (X units), Ireland (X units) and Iraq (X units) were the main destinations for UK overhead crane exports, accounting for X% of total exports. This was followed by Russia, Kazakhstan, Norway, Belgium, Côte d’Ivoire, Thailand, Oman, Canada, Malta and South Africa, which further increased in number from 2007 to 2020, with the largest increase being Côte d’Ivoire (+X% annually), while the other leaders experienced more modest growth rates in shipments.
In value terms, Algeria ($X), Ireland ($X) and Iraq ($X) are the largest markets for UK overhead crane exports globally, accounting for X% of total exports. Kazakhstan, Russia, Thailand, Norway, Belgium, Côte d’Ivoire, Oman, Canada, Malta and South Africa are a little behind, adding up to X major destination countries, Côte d’Ivoire (+X% per annum) recorded the highest export value during the review period growth rate, while shipments from other leading players grew at a more moderate pace.
UK imports of overhead cranes are estimated at X units in 2020, an X% jump from 2019 figures. Overall, however, imports continued to show abrupt cuts. The growth rate was most pronounced in 2015, when imports increased by X% over the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, imports have remained low.

In 2020, Germany (X units) was the largest supplier of overhead cranes in the UK, accounting for X% of total imports. In addition, overhead cranes imported from Germany were four times higher than the number recorded by the second largest supplier, Thailand (X units). Italy (X units) occupies the third position in the ranking with an X% share.
From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of sales from Germany was -X%. The average annual growth rates of imports for the remaining suppliers are as follows: Thailand (X% per annum) and Italy (+X% per annum). Germany ($X) is the UK's largest supplier of overhead cranes by value, accounting for X% of total imports. In second place is Italy ($X) with X% of total imports. It is followed by Thailand with an X% share.
From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth in value from Germany totaled -X%. The average annual growth rates of imports by the remaining suppliers are as follows: Italy (+X% per annum) and Thailand (X% per annum).
