In the manufacturing industry, items such as raw materials, components, and semi-finished products have a large mass and weight and require the use of cranes for handling. The crane can easily complete operations at high altitudes, on the ground and in low-lying areas, improving production efficiency and operating safety.
In addition, cranes can also cooperate with other manufacturing equipment, such as machine tools, production lines, etc., to achieve automated production. By combining with automation technology, cranes can achieve precise control, rapid positioning and efficient handling, further improving the production efficiency and product quality of the manufacturing industry.
There are various types of cranes commonly used in the manufacturing industry based on different operating environments and handling needs. Choosing the right crane type can improve production efficiency and operating safety, reduce costs and energy consumption, and promote the sustainable development of the manufacturing industry. While providing various types of cranes to global manufacturing customers for a long time, we have summarized the following uses of cranes:
Bridge cranes are mainly used in general manufacturing industries to lift materials and equipment to move heavy objects in the horizontal direction.
Specifically, uses of overhead cranes in manufacturing include:
In short, bridge cranes play a very important role in the manufacturing industry, which can greatly improve production efficiency, reduce workers' labor intensity, and reduce safety hazards.
Jib cranes can move and position heavy objects quickly and accurately, improving production efficiency. In manufacturing, especially material handling on production lines, the high efficiency of jib cranes can significantly improve production efficiency.
The jib crane has a 360-degree rotation function and can realize lifting operations at various angles. At the same time, the jib crane is flexible in movement and can be operated in a small space to adapt to different working environments.
The Dongqi KBK steel and aluminium workstation lifting systems are designed to meet the varied and demanding requirements of workstations and production lines that need up to 2,000 kg of lifting capacity. They can be ceiling-mounted or freestanding, single or double girder bridges, or even monorails. The Dongqi KBK aluminium workstation lifting systems comes with a light, durable enclosed aluminium profile. The Dongqi KBK steel workstation lifting systems, with its enclosed steel profile, is robust and strong.
We offer long spans for our workstation cranes. The enclosed track extends far, allowing us to offer the full coverage necessary for production and assembly lines.
For operations that require workers to make precise, repetitive movements, our workstation crane systems offer an ergonomic and cost-effective option, without the architectural investments often involved when installing an overhead crane.
The application characteristics of KBK cranes in general manufacturing are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

Obviously when you are handling long and heavy beams—6–20m, weighing 3–15t—safety is a top priority.
An Indonesian manufacturer of prestressed concrete beams has installed 16 overhead cranes to optimize production at its factory. Their target production capacity this year is approximately 3.25 million tonnes of concrete beams, which will be used in construction and infrastructure projects including flood protection structures, offshore piling and structures, as well as roads, rail bridges, and civil engineering works.
The cranes we manufacture for our customers are a combination of single and double girder types with a lifting capacity of 8-10 tonnes and feature tandem operation where required for hoisting wide, long and heavy concrete and steel loads.
The new installation of cranes replaced slower and less efficient mobile cranes used as an interim measure since the plant opened a year ago. Obviously when you are handling long and heavy beams—6–20m, weighing 3–15t—safety is a top priority. Not only must any risk of collision be curtailed, but also the process must be robustly engineered to continue to reliably provide an uninterrupted supply to vital infrastructure projects.
All 16 cranes incorporate inverter control for smoother travelling motion, meaning better load control compared to one- or two-speed contactor control. All lift, cross travel and long travel speeds are tailored to the exact application. Safety devices also include overload protection, upper/lower limit switch, cross travel and long travel limit switch, anti-collision devices and thermal protection for the motors
The crane comes with a two-step variable frequency drive (VFD). It spans 51ft and runs on rails 180ft in length, while bridge speed is 100fpm (feet per minute).
It also comes equipped with a pair of electric wire rope hoists – one main and one auxiliary – to help flip parts. A tool and die maker specialises in designing, crafting, and maintaining precision tools, dies, moulds, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.
The 40-ton capacity main hoist features closed loop VFD, and offers a lift height of about 23ft and lift speed of 10fpm. The auxiliary hoist, meanwhile, has a capacity of 20 tons, a lift height of approximately 38ft, and lift speed of 15fpm. It also comes with closed loop VFD.
The controller is a Cattron Patriot radio remote.
