Working principle of double rope double flap grab

The double rope double flap grab is a commonly used grab tool on single beam grab bridge cranes and single beam grab gantry cranes. The lifting and opening and closing of this type of grab are carried out by wire ropes. Therefore, two electric hoists are generally required to work together. The wire ropes on the two electric hoists of the single-beam grab crane are used as a support rope for the grab, responsible for the ascent and descent of the grab, and one used as an opening and closing rope, responsible for the opening and closing actions of the grab. The double rope double flap grab is suspended on the support rope and the opening and closing rope of the crane. The working steps are as follows:

1.  The empty grab descends: before the grab descends, the opening and closing ropes are completely relaxed, and the weight of the empty grab is completely borne by the support rope. At this time, the grab is in the open state. Therefore, the support rope and the opening and closing rope are required to be synchronized. When descending, the grab will remain open and land on the cargo pile.
2.  Grab: When the grab drops onto the cargo pile, continue to loosen the support rope, insert the grab into the cargo pile under its own weight, and then tighten the opening and closing ropes so that the upper and lower bolsters are close to each other, then grab The bucket is closed and the cargo is grabbed.
3.  Lifting with cargo grab: when the closing of the grab is over, the support rope will immediately rise with the opening and closing ropes, and then the grab with the cargo will rise. At the beginning of this process, the full weight of the grab with the cargo will be switched from opening and closing. The rope is borne, and then the load is equally shared by the two ropes.
4.  Unloading: After the cargo grab is transported to the unloading location, loosen the opening and closing ropes so that the full weight of the cargo grab is borne by the support rope, and the grab is automatically stretched under the action of the lower bolster, the bucket body and the weight of the cargo. Open and unload the goods.
5.  After the above four processes in sequence, the grab completes a working cycle and is ready to grab objects again.

The opening and closing electric hoist of the grab can also be installed on the grab, and only the electric hoist responsible for lifting is suspended under the crane. But this kind of use is very rare.
