Paterson Simons has recently unloaded and commissioned two Konecranes 16-wheel ゴムタイヤ式ガントリークレーン (RTGs) at the West Africa Container Terminal (WACT) in Onne, ナイジェリア.
The cranes join the existing fleet of 18 WACT Konecranes RTGs, making 20 in total, 16 of which have been unloaded and commissioned by the Paterson Simons engineering team.
The RTGs have a lifting capacity of 41t each and feature a fuel-saver option, which is said to reduce fuel consumption without compromising crane performance.
Unloading the RTGs involved removing the special attachments and protective measures needed for the sea voyage and moving the cranes from the dock to the area provided for them.
The commissioning of RTGs involved the testing of all functions, including carrying out endurance tests.
