Print machine manufacturer chooses Konecranes

Konecranes has supplied ten cranes to Apex International, a manufacturer and exporter of printing rolls and printing machines, for its newest plant, at Nashik, インド.

The crane manufacturer provided eight CXT UNO 2 cranes and two XM workstation cranes to the plant, which will supply markets including India, the Middle East, South East Asia, and the Pacific region.

Apex International is based in Hapert, the オランダ, and is a leading manufacturer of precision flexographic ink-to-plate technology, including anilox rolls and sleeves for narrow and wide-web corrugated, offset and coating applications.

Apex has manufacturing facilities on four continents, with the Nashik plant a vertically-integrated production facility capable of manufacturing end products, converting base materials into the finished engraved products.

Dhanaraj Patil, executive director at Apex International, Nashik, said: “We have a long-standing partnership with Konecranes. All of our plants use Konecranes cranes, including plants in Europe, ブラジル米国. Our European branch, for example, reported a very good experience with Konecranes. The performance of the cranes has been very good, so, based on that, we went for Konecranes.

“It’s very easy to use and to control the speed and movement. The production time and cycle-time is quite fast, compared to other cranes.”

Pankaj Potdar, assistant manager of equipment sales at Konecranes India, said: “The CXT is known for its efficient use of space under the crane and its excellent hook approaches. Safety is optimised through high-performance brakes, durable wire ropes and remote operation.”

The CXT UNO 2 cranes are being used by Apex for tasks such as loading and unloading the machines used to manufacture ink metering and measuring tools. Key features of the CXT UNO cranes include the CXT wire rope hoist, which is a staple lifting device used globally and throughout the Asia-Pacific in maintenance tasks, production lines, engineering industrial warehouses and factories, said Konecranes, and the cranes’ compact design, enabling users to operate closer to walls and lift loads higher, as well as optimising floor space.

More than 1,5000 CXT cranes have been sold in India over the last ten years, said Konecranes, with particularly good growth in the manufacturing sector.
