Several methods are recommended for the correct selection of steel wire ropes for lifting equipment:

1. High temperature resistant steel wire ropes such as asbestos cores should be used for steel wire ropes for lifting molten or hot metal.

2. Galvanized steel wire rope should be used when working in open air, damp, corrosive and other environments.

3. The wire rope of the lifting equipment of the winding pulley and the lifting accessories reel mechanism should be preferred to the wire contact wire rope. Due to the small contact stress between the wires of the line contact steel wire rope, the wear is small, the winding performance is good, and the service life of the wire rope is relatively long.

4. For cranes with large hoisting or multi-layer winding of hoisting equipment wire ropes, right-hand twisted wire ropes that do not rotate and have no tendency to loosen should be used. This twisting tendency of the steel wire strand and the rope cancels each other out. It is not easy to rotate and loose when lifting heavy objects.
