This is the second Verlinde order to Karachi in recent days, after パキスタン supplied a crane for car assembly to Indus Toyota.
The overhead gantry crane was installed at a motorcycle production facility at Bin Qasim, Karachi.
The crane will service the plant as it works double shifts to supply 44,000 units.
“We have always said there was great potential in Pakistan for the services we can offer and two high profile contracts in as many months, including this latest one for Suzuki shows we are on the right track,” said Shahid Akram, Verlinde’s representative in Pakistan.
Thomas Descamps, Verlinde’s managing director, continued to expand on Verlinde’s decision to introduce chain hoist services, and ATEX explosion proofing in the region.
“Supplying Verlinde cranes to Pak Suzuki is another important milestone in the growth of our operations in Pakistan,” he said.
Descamps outlined Verlinde’s growth strategy. “Pakistan is a country full of potential and Verlinde, along with other global companies are proud to be playing our part in this country’s developing success story through our range of services,” he said.
Suzuki’s motorcycle plant, which will be a key manufacturing and distribution centre producing 150,000 motorcycles per year, opened in July.
