Ship to shore container crane is a heavy lifting equipment specially used for loading and unloading container ships at the front of container terminals. This product is also called STS crane or shore gantry crane, which is an indispensable and important equipment for modern ports.

1. Main functions and applications

The main function of shore container crane is to unload containers directly from ships to docks or container trucks, or to load containers from docks or container trucks to ships. This crane is usually located on the dock and can move along the edge of the dock to carry out loading and unloading operations at different locations. It uses special container spreaders to complete the loading and unloading of containers, greatly improving the loading and unloading efficiency and throughput of the port.

2. Product composition and technical features

Shore container cranes are usually composed of metal structures, electrical systems, four major mechanisms (lifting mechanism, trolley running mechanism, pitching mechanism, crane running mechanism), spreaders, tilting and suspension cab protection devices and auxiliary devices. All mechanisms use full digital AC frequency conversion and PLC control speed regulation technology to achieve flexible control and high-precision operation.

The crane is equipped with a variety of single-box and double-box special lifting equipment, as well as an optional electronic anti-sway function, which further improves the stability and safety of loading and unloading operations. At the same time, it also adopts advanced technologies such as vector frequency conversion, power feedback, and torque balance control to achieve energy saving, environmental protection and efficient operation.

3. Product specifications and parameters

The product specifications of shore container cranes are diverse, and the main technical parameters include rated lifting capacity, lifting height, front reach, rear reach, track gauge, etc. Taking a certain model of crane as an example, its rated lifting capacity can reach 65 tons, the lifting height can reach 48-52.5 meters, the front reach can reach 65 meters, the rear reach can reach 25 meters, and the track gauge is generally 26-30 meters. These parameters enable the crane to adapt to the loading and unloading needs of container ships of different sizes and tonnages.

4. Automation and intelligence

With the development of port automation and intelligence, shore container cranes have gradually realized automation and intelligence. Modern cranes are usually equipped with CMS intelligent service management system, which can monitor the operating status of the equipment in real time, realize automatic fault diagnosis and real-time data display. At the same time, it can also provide multiple operation modes, such as manual, semi-automatic, automated and remote control, making the operation more flexible and convenient.

In addition, some advanced cranes also use technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing and big data to realize intelligent loading and unloading operations and port management. The application of these technologies not only improves loading and unloading efficiency, but also reduces labor costs and safety risks.
