Scrap Standard for Single Girder Crane Wheels

The wheel is an important part that bears the weight of the whole single beam crane . Because of its long-term use, it is prone to wear and tear. The wheel working on the rail should be scrapped when one of the following conditions occurs:

1.  Crack
2.  The thickness of the rim wears 50% of the original thickness
3.  The bending deformation of the rim thickness reaches 20% of the original thickness
4.  The tread thickness wears up to 15% of the original thickness
5.  When the running speed is lower than 50m/min, the ovality reaches 1mm; when the running speed is higher than 50m/min, the ovality reaches 0.5mm

1.  When the rolling surface of the wheel does not exceed the scrapping standard, when the wear of the rolling surface of the wheel reaches 3% of the nominal diameter of the wheel, and the depth of peeling or scratching reaches 3mm, it should be re-machined and repaired by heat treatment. The wheel diameter should be within the tolerance range, the surface quenching hardness HB300-350, for the wheel diameter greater than 400mm, the quenching layer should be greater than 20mm, the wheel diameter should be less than 400mm, and the quenching layer should not be less than 15mm.
2.  If the rim of the wheel is worn out, it can be welded outside and re-machined. And annealing heat treatment.
3.  The diameter deviation of the driving wheel of a single beam crane should not exceed 0.1% of the nominal diameter; the driven wheel should not exceed 0.2% of the nominal diameter. The deviation of the wheel diameter of the electric hoist shall not exceed 1% of the nominal diameter.
4.  The installed wheel assembly should be able to rotate flexibly by hand. Several wheels mounted on the same gimbal should be in the same vertical plane, with an allowable deviation of 1mm.

Whether the wheels of a single-girder crane meet the standards will affect the safe use of the crane. If it does not meet the standards, it may cause the crane to gnaw rails and other failures.
