For the wire rope hoist, the winding device is a wire rope, and the lifting depends on the drum to rotate. If it is to be lifted, the wire rope needs to be wound on the drum, and it is wound in a single layer. This causes the length of the reel to change with the lifting height. As the height increases, the reel will be lengthened and the volume of the equipment will increase. Therefore, at the same specification, the wire rope hoist is several times or even ten times the size of the electric chain hoist.
Electric wire rope hoist lifts heavy objects by the wire rope wound on the drum. Since the size of the drum can be customized and the lifting speed is fast, the lifting height of the electric wire rope hoist can be as high as 120m. The chain hoist is different. When lifting, the chain is wound around the sprocket, and the chain is stored in the chain bag. Subject to the continuous energization capacity and lifting speed of the motor, the lifting height of the electric chain hoist is generally within 20m, and the maximum height of the special design is only about 50m. The difference between the lifting height range of the two is still very large.
The axis of the wire rope hoist is parallel to the centerline of the track of its trolley, and the centerline of the chain hoist and the track can be installed at 90 degrees, so under the same working conditions and track length, the latter has a longer running distance.
Wire rope hoists have different lifting heights and different models. Therefore, the electric hoist with a lower lifting height cannot increase its lifting height. On the contrary, although it can be modified, the drum of the electric hoist will be idle, causing waste. The model of the chain hoist has nothing to do with the lifting height, it is only related to the length of the chain. If you want to modify it, you only need to change the chain.
If you strictly follow the operating specifications of the electric hoist, it is not allowed to pull diagonally during operation, but this is unavoidable in actual operation. Among them, due to the rigid connection between the wire rope hoist and the running trolley, the wire rope guide is easily damaged if the oblique tension is too large. If the operation is not stopped in time, the motor may be broken and the entire equipment may be damaged. The chain hoist and the traveling trolley are hinged. There is a large gap between its lifting hole and the load bearing axle beam of the traveling trolley, and the former can rotate around the latter. The centerline of the chain along the tangent direction of the sprocket pitch circle can be basically maintained perpendicular to the sprocket axis. Therefore, it can work normally even if it is pulled diagonally, and it will not cause excessive damage to the chain hoist, and it will not cause the hoist to be scrapped.
The winding device of the wire rope hoist is a steel wire rope, which is rigid and prone to grooving under no-load conditions. When lifting small weights or transporting heavy objects to supports, the problem of rope disorder is more likely to occur. The chain hoist winding device is a chain, because the winding method is hinged and there is no rigidity, so there is no problem of messy rope.
In order to prevent the wire rope of the wire rope hoist from buckling repeatedly and shortening its lifespan during the lifting process, the winding direction on the drum and the rope wheel needs to be the same, so that the electric hoist can balance the tension and pressure on both sides during the lifting process. The direction of the chain hoist chain wound on the sprocket can be set at will, which has high flexibility.
Under normal circumstances, the steel wire ropes of the wire rope hoist are relatively thin. If the equipment is often operated under humid, high temperature, acid and alkali fog conditions, the wire rope is easy to break, while the chain section of the chain hoist is relatively large, and the core material is generally acceptable. It is resistant to high temperature and oxidation, so there will be no major changes in harsh environments, so it has a longer life.
It can be seen that, under the same specifications, the chain hoist has a longer service life and better tensile resistance than a wire rope hoist, and there is no problem of messy rope.
