There is a leg at each end of the main beam, which can carry out load movement on the track of the ground. Both ends of the main beam also have the function of extending the cantilever beam. Because gantry cranes have the advantages of space utilization, large operating radius, and good versatility, they have been widely used in some ports and factories.
Gantry crane is also a mechanical equipment for handling and loading and unloading materials in fixed spans. It is widely used in workshops, warehouses or open sites. The difference between it and bridge crane lies in the bridge part. It has two tall support legs at both ends of the main beam. The traveling wheels of the crane are installed on the bottom beam of the support legs and run longitudinally along the track laid on the ground. It is divided into: general purpose, power station, shipbuilding gantry, quayside container loading and unloading bridge, truss loading and unloading bridge, etc.
This is the simplest lifting equipment. It can be used alone or in combination with gantry cranes and bridge cranes. It has the advantages of small size, light weight etc. It is common used in industrial and mining factories, workshops and other places.
