Solution to the brake failure of the electric hoist of a single beam crane

In the workshop of electric single girder crane is electric hoist as lifting mechanism, if electric hoist brake failure fault occurs, it will cause the hook to decline. The editor of our factory sorted out the reasons and solutions for the brake failure of the electric hoist and shared with you.

There are several reasons for the decline of electric hoist hooks:

  1.  The electric hoist is out of service for a long time;
  2.  Someone adjusts the brake adjusting nut by mistake ;
  3.  Excessive wear of the brake ring reduces the pressure of the brake spring and the braking force.

Only by understanding the reasons for the decline of the electric hoist can we better prescribe the right medicine:

  1.  When the electric hoist that has been out of service for a long time is put into use again, it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the electric hoist first, especially when some test loads appear to decline, and readjust the brake nut according to the instructions.
  2.  If the stop nut is adjusted and the slippage still occurs, first disassemble the brake ring to check whether there is oil stains inside. The oil stains will reduce the friction coefficient and cause slippage during braking. This situation must be faced It is necessary to remove the oil stains, and then perform a test load to see if there is still a decline.
  3.  Another situation is that the brake ring is loose or damaged. When the brake ring cannot guarantee effective braking, the brake ring can only be replaced.

Sometimes it is found that the brake ring is not damaged. Only the brake ring has poor contact with the cone surface of the rear cover. When braking, the brake surface has too little contact and the braking force is too small, causing the sliding distance to exceed the specified requirements. During maintenance, in order to increase For braking force, find out the position of poor contact and perform grinding to increase the contact surface during braking. When grinding is not possible, replace parts; the hoist motor coupling does not move well or becomes stuck. The moving ring and the cone surface of the rear end cover are in poor contact or cannot be contacted, which will make the braking effect of the hoist get better and worse. In such cases, the coupling should be repaired or replaced.
