With the development of sliding contact line, more types of crane sliding contact line are derived, which can be divided into four types: angle steel sliding contact line, rigid sliding contact line, safe sliding contact line, jointless sliding contact line, etc.

  1. Angle steel sliding contact line: This is a sliding contact line type widely used in China in the past few decades. Its advantages are that it can save non-ferrous metal consumption and strong and wear-resistant structure. Its disadvantages are large power loss, difficult construction and sparks due to poor contact during operation. Especially for some large tonnage cranes, its load current is very large.
  2. Rigid sliding contact line: it is a sliding contact wire laid on insulator with copper as conductive material and steel as reinforcing material. Generally, the copper material is embedded on the light rail according to the carrying capacity, or the groove copper wire is clamped with steel splint, and then fixed on the insulator. The current carrying capacity of the rigid sliding contact wire and the carrying area of the conductor are relatively large. The carrying area of the conductor is generally 70 ~ 540mm2, the rated current is 300 ~ 1850a, and the maximum temperature is 95C. It has good contact resistance, and its performance will not be reduced when used under bad conditions. It can ensure a long service life, high machine strength, and will not deform and bend, It is also not easy to break the line. The rigid sliding contact line is the most widely used, and can be widely used as the sliding contact line of various cranes with different tonnage, especially for some large-capacity cranes and high-temperature and dusty places.
  3. Safe sliding contact line: this kind of sliding contact wire uses special-shaped copper or aluminum as the conductor and is installed in the shield made of PVC plastic. The collector on the crane extends into the shield from below to slide with the conductor. No conductor is exposed, so it is called safe sliding contact wire. The collector adopts universal flexible structure, and the sliding contact line is not rigidly connected with the plant structure. Therefore, the brush on the collector can maintain good contact with the sliding contact surface. In addition, the conductor is protected by an insulating shield, and the sliding contact surface will not accumulate dust, which can ensure good contact. The safety sliding contact wire can be used both indoors and outdoors. It can also be made into a curved section to run on the curve.
    • Another advantage of the safety sliding contact line is that the voltage drop on the sliding contact line is small, which can save the power loss during operation. This is because the phase to phase distance of the sliding contact line is very small, the minimum phase to phase distance is only 18mm, and the maximum is no more than 150mm, so the line impedance can also be reduced, so as to reduce the voltage drop.
  4. Jointless sliding contact line: the jointless sliding contact wire uses copper as the conductor and is installed in PVC plastic groove. Its advantages are simple installation and low cost.Seamless sliding contact line is widely used

At present, jointless sliding contact line is widely used in indoor bridge crane. If sliding contact line is required for outdoor equipment, safety sliding contact line is generally selected, but the cost will be higher.
