The terms single girder crane, beam crane, bridge crane and monorail crane are relatively similar. For those who are new to the lifting industry, it may be a bit difficult to understand and distinguish. Our editor here briefly introduces the conceptual meaning of these terms and the differences between them.
Both beam cranes and bridge cranes refer to bridge cranes used in workshops and workshops, also known as bridge cranes, overhead cranes, and sky cranes. This type of crane runs on the track on the top of the workshop and can be divided into two types: single beam and double beam. Use electric hoist or lifting trolley as the lifting mechanism.
Monorail cranes have been introduced to you in the previous article " The difference between monorail cranes, single beam suspension cranes and electric hoists ". Monorail cranes are crane equipment whose hoisting mechanism can only move in the direction of the track, that is, electric hoists. Hanging on the track, the hoist can make simple linear movements along the track. It is generally used when transporting heavy objects in a linear interval.
The purpose of beam cranes and monorail cranes are different:
The working area of the beam crane is a rectangular area. Generally, the running track of the large car must be a straight line; the monorail crane is a linear area, and the running track is allowed to have curves.
Beam cranes have strong applicability for lifting heavy objects, and the maximum weight can be several hundred tons; but the heavy objects lifted by monorail cranes are generally relatively small, and the applicability is very different.
When you order lifting equipment, you must choose products that suit you.
