Is the electric hoist a special equipment?

Electric hoists are special equipment.

According to Article 2 of the "Special Equipment Safety Law of the People's Republic of China", this Law applies to the production (including design, manufacture, installation, transformation, and repair), operation, use, inspection, testing, and supervision and management of special equipment safety of special equipment. The special equipment referred to in this Law refers to boilers, pressure vessels (including gas cylinders), pressure pipelines, elevators, hoisting machinery, passenger ropeways, large amusement facilities, field (factories) that pose a relatively high risk to personal and property safety. Motor vehicles for domestic use, and other special equipment to which this Law is applicable as stipulated by laws and administrative regulations.

The state implements catalog management for special equipment. The catalog of special equipment shall be formulated by the department in charge of the safety supervision and management of special equipment under the State Council, and shall be implemented upon approval by the State Council.

Article 14 of the "Special Equipment Safety Supervision Regulations" boilers, pressure vessels, elevators, hoisting machinery, passenger ropeways, large amusement facilities and their safety accessories, safety protection devices manufacturing, installation, transformation units, and pipes for pressure pipelines, Manufacturing units of pipe fittings, valves, flanges, compensators, safety protection devices, etc. (hereinafter referred to as pressure piping components) and manufacturing and transformation units of special motor vehicles in the field (factory);

It should be approved by the special equipment safety supervision and management department of the State Council before engaging in corresponding activities. The manufacturing, installation and transformation units of the special equipment mentioned in the preceding paragraph shall meet the following conditions:

(1) Have professional technicians and skilled workers suitable for the manufacture, installation and transformation of special equipment;

(2) Having production conditions and testing methods suitable for the manufacture, installation and transformation of special equipment;

(3) Have a sound quality management system and responsibility system.

According to Article 88 of the "Special Equipment Safety Supervision Regulations", the interpretation of relevant lifting equipment:

Hoisting machinery refers to electromechanical equipment used for vertical lifting or vertical lifting and horizontal moving of heavy objects. Its scope is defined as lifts with a rated lifting capacity greater than or equal to 0.5t; Or a crane equal to 2m and a fixed electric hoist with a load-bearing form, etc.

Pay attention to the word "mechanical and electrical". Therefore, chain hoists do not belong to special equipment, while electric hoists are special equipment.
