Purpose and preparation of load test of bridge crane

After the installation of the bridge crane, the necessary load test shall be carried out to ensure that the crane can work normally. The load test shall be carried out for the crane that is overhauled, changes important performance, or after an accident. The main purposes of load test of bridge crane are:

• ① Check whether the performance of the crane meets the technical requirements.
• ② Check whether the metal structure has sufficient strength, stiffness and stability, and whether the welding quality meets the requirements.
• ③ Check whether the transmission of each mechanism of the bridge crane is stable and reliable.
• ④ Check whether the safety device, limit switch and brake of the crane are flexible, reliable and accurate.
• ⑤ Check whether the bearing temperature rise of the crane is normal.
• ⑥ Check whether the lubricating oil circuit of the bridge crane is unblocked.
• ⑦ Check whether the electrical components of the crane work normally.

After the load test, the test items shall be recorded in writing.

Make preparations before the load test of bridge crane, and check the following aspects with the main power off:

• ① All components shall be intact.
• ② All connecting parts shall be fastened.
• ③ The assembly of all components shall meet the design requirements.
• ④ The wire rope shall be correctly wound on the drum and pulley block, and the rope end shall be firmly fixed.
• ⑤ The brake is sensitive and reliable.
• ⑥ Good lubrication.
• ⑦ Weights and measuring tools are well prepared.

The load test of the bridge crane is a necessary work to ensure the normal operation of the crane. After the load test is passed, the crane can be put into normal operation.
