Terex Port Solutions (TPS) has completed the first half of major RTG commission by Asyaport, a new major container terminal located on the Sea of Marmara, Thổ nhĩ kỳ.
The company has delivered the first 12 machines, which were manufactured at its TPS facility in Xiamen, PR China, to Asyaport, which is expected to become one of the largest container terminals in the country.
Marc Desmons, engineering services manager for GTL, which owns and operates Asyaport, said the addition of the new cranes will ensure the business is "well placed" to face future challenges in what is a competitive market.
He adds: "Thanks to the on-time delivery of the machines, we remain on schedule for the opening of our new terminal."
Maurizio Altieri, general manager of TPS Xiamen, says the machines, which are the first Terex RTGs in Turkey, consolidate the company's "strong position" in the country.
"The machines can handle up to 40t, have a hoisting height of up to 21 m under the spreader and can stack standard containers 1-over-6. Since they are designed as E-RTG variants and powered through a raised busbar direct from the harbour mains, they generate minimal local exhaust emissions and have low noise emissions."
